Honors Colloquia, Lectures, & Events 2009-2010
Every year the Honors Program selects a concept - a word or phrase - to examine and to discuss across academic disciplines. In Honors seminars, colloquia, and informal lunch table discussions, we invite the campus community to consider the different meanings attached to a word or phrase when viewed through the different disciplinary perspectives of the sciences, the arts, and the humanities. This year's theme is Evolution/Devolution. Sweet Briar faculty, as well as visiting scholars, will present research talks in all academic disciplines throughout the year. The presentations include questions and discussion, and all students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to join us throughout the year as we contemplate ideas of Evolution/Devolution from a variety of perspectives spanning the liberal arts spectrum.
