Transfer Students

Sweet Briar welcomes qualified students who wish to enter the College after attending another college or university. Students who have been enrolled in a degree-seeking program and have completed some academic coursework at another college or university are considered "transfer" students. Each year, 15-20 transfer students join the College (about 10 percent of the total entering class).

Students are welcome to transfer into the College at the beginning of either semester. We prefer to have students enter in August, when there is a more complete orientation program, but we are happy to entertain applications for admission for entrance in January (and we do have a brief orientation for students entering in January).
